The library is devoted to the history of America's First Ladies. At the heart of the site (the virtual library) is a comprehensive bibliographic database containing 40,000 books, articles, letters, manuscripts, and other works by and about the 43 First Ladies. For each of them, there is a biographic sketch, along with a (sometimes annotated) bibliography, arranged by type of publication.
